Job Responsibilities: In the ISP (Internet Service Provider) industry, a Wireman is responsible for installing, connecting, maintaining, and repairing physical network cables and related infrastructure that deliver internet services to customers.
Key Responsibility: 1. Cable Installation: • Laying and pulling fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, or Ethernet cables. • Installing overhead lines on poles or underground cables in ducts. • Connecting cables from distribution points to customer premises. 2. Maintenance Work: • Regular inspection of network lines. • Repairing damaged cables due to weather or construction. • Ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Basic electrical and networking knowledge. • Understanding of fiber optics. • Ability to read cable layout diagrams. • Climbing poles and working at heights. • Safety compliance knowledge.
