Reporting to: Service Manager / Project Supervisor

Role Overview

The LED Lighting Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of LED lighting systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires both technical expertise and customer interaction skills to ensure smooth project execution and excellent client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain LED lighting fixtures including ceiling, wall, false ceiling, track, panel, flood, and street lights.

• Perform wiring, load calculations, and electrical connections as per safety standards.

• Diagnose and resolve lighting issues such as flickering, heating, low brightness, and driver failures.

• Handle dimming systems (0-10V, DALI, TRIAC) and IP-rated waterproof fittings.

• Use tools like multimeter, testers, screwdrivers, drills, cutters, and wire strippers for day-to-day work.

• Ensure neat cable management and professional finishing during installations.

• Conduct energy efficiency calculations for replacing conventional lamps with LED systems.

• Maintain proper documentation: warranty cards, service reports, and CRM/mobile app updates.

• Assist in smart lighting system setups (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Alexa, Google Home).

• Work safely using PPE, insulated tools, gloves, and follow company’s safety protocols.

• Coordinate with electricians, designers, and supervisors to complete projects on time.

Required Technical Skills

• Basic electrical knowledge: wiring, voltage, current, and load management.

• Understanding of LED drivers, SMPS, ballast, and power supply concepts.

• Knowledge of CCT (3000K, 4000K, 6500K) and CRI differences.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting LED lighting issues.

• Familiarity with dimming systems and smart lighting technologies.

Practical Skills

• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for installation and servicing.

• Ability to perform safe work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.

• Knowledge of proper cable routing and management techniques.

• Strong focus on safety standards and protocols during work execution.

Soft Skills

• Good communication skills to explain technical details in simple language.

• Professional customer interaction and time management.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Maintaining a professional attitude at all times.

Extra / Bonus Skills

• Experience with IoT and smart lighting systems.

• Ability to document work reports and enter data in CRM/mobile apps.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma / Certification in Electrical, Electronics, or related field.

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in lighting or electrical service industry preferred.
