Technician

A solar plant installer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring they efficiently convert sunlight into usable energy. They work outdoors, often at heights, and may work as part of a team. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation:

  Install solar panels and other PV components on rooftops and structures. 

• Planning and Layout:

  Plan PV system configurations based on customer needs, site conditions, and building codes. 

• Structure and Mounting:

  Install and adjust support structures for solar panels, including brackets and mounts.

• Electrical Work:

  Connect PV panels to the electrical system, ensuring proper earthing and wiring. 

• Testing and Maintenance:

  Test installed systems, perform routine maintenance, and diagnose and repair issues. 

• Safety:

  Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines during all phases of installation and maintenance. 

• Client Education:

  Explain the benefits of solar energy and system operation to clients. 

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Understanding of electrical systems, PV panel technology, and basic construction principles. 

• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights. 

• Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and repair issues with PV systems. 

• Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members. 

• Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
