Technician

The Technician is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day technical operations of the cinema, including projection, sound, lighting, and general maintenance of equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted screening experiences for guests while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Projection & Screening Management

• Operate digital projectors, audio systems, and automation equipment.

• Schedule and monitor movie screenings to ensure on-time, smooth playback.

• Troubleshoot projection or sound issues immediately during shows.

2. Equipment Maintenance

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of cinema projection, audio, and visual equipment.

• Ensure all technical equipment (projectors, servers, UPS, speakers, 3D systems, lighting) is functional and serviced on time.

• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and service records.

3. IT & Networking Support

• Monitor and maintain cinema IT systems (servers, POS connectivity, CCTV, Wi-Fi).

• Coordinate with IT support teams/vendors for escalated issues.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company technical policies, fire safety, and electrical safety norms.

• Perform routine checks on UPS, DG sets, HVAC, and emergency systems.

• Support compliance audits and inspections.

5. Vendor & Coordination

• Coordinate with external vendors/service providers for equipment servicing and repairs.

• Support cinema staff with training on basic equipment handling.

• Provide technical support during special events or private screenings.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of digital projection systems (Barco, Christie, NEC, or equivalent).

• Understanding of audio systems (Dolby, DTS, Surround Sound).

• Basic knowledge of networking, IT systems, and electrical troubleshooting.

• Problem-solving and quick decision-making during live shows.

• Team player with good communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / ITI in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in technical operations (preferably cinema, multiplex, or AV industry).

• Freshers with technical knowledge can also be considered (with training).

• It is a Full Time Technician job for candidates with 6 months - 3 years of experience.
