Technician

Job Title: Technician – PVR INOX Cinemas

Department: Engineering / Technical Operations
Location: PVRINOX (Vega City Mall)
Reporting To: Engineering Manager/ Technical Operations

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of all cinema equipment, including projection, sound, HVAC, and electrical systems, while maintaining safety and quality standards to deliver the best movie-viewing experience to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain projection and sound systems (digital cinema projectors, servers, amplifiers, and related audio-visual equipment).

• Conduct regular preventive and corrective maintenance of all technical equipment.

• Ensure daily calibration and testing of projectors and sound systems before show start.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.

• Maintain proper records of maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and inventory of spare parts.

• Coordinate with central technical team/vendors for complex repairs or equipment upgrades.

• Support the operations team in maintaining lighting, HVAC, DG sets, UPS systems, and electrical panels.

• Ensure adherence to safety standards, including fire-fighting and emergency systems.

• Assist in new screen installations, refurbishments, or technology upgrades.

• Provide technical support during special screenings, events, or private shows.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.

• Experience: 1–3 years.

• Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of digital cinema systems (Barco, Christie, NEC projectors, Dolby servers).

  • Basic electrical and HVAC troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with automation and audio systems.

Key Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and in shifts (including weekends and holidays).

• Team player with good communication and coordination skills.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality service.

Work Environment:

• Shift-based role (morning, evening, or night).

• On-call support during emergencies.
