The Telecom Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems, including fiber optic networks, routers, switches, and related field equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted network connectivity and optimal performance across all telecom infrastructure.
Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cables.
Perform installation and maintenance of telecom equipment such as ONTs, OLTs, modems, routers, and switches.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on telecom infrastructure.
Identify and troubleshoot signal loss, connectivity, and configuration issues.
Handle customer installations, service requests, and field repairs.
Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, repairs, and test results.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company guidelines.
Coordinate with network engineers, splicers, and other field teams for fault rectification.
Support upgrades, expansions, and migrations of telecom networks.
Respond to outage calls and perform emergency maintenance when required.
ITI / Diploma / B.E. (Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field).
1–3 years of experience in telecom field operations or network maintenance.
Knowledge of FTTH / FTTx, GPON, or similar technologies preferred.
