Technician

We are seeking a detail-orientated and motivated laboratory technician to join our quality control team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, cement, and other materials, in accordance with relevant standards.

• Prepare, label, and maintain test samples.

• Record, analyse, and report test results accurately and promptly.

• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition.

• Conduct routine quality control inspections on construction materials.

• Assist engineers and quality control personnel in interpreting laboratory results.

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company procedures.

• Follow applicable testing standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN, or local standards).

• Report any non-conforming materials or test results to the supervisor.

• Maintain proper documentation and laboratory records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction technology, materials engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in a construction materials laboratory.

• Experience with infrastructure, roadworks, concrete, or building construction projects is preferred.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of construction material testing procedures and standards.

• Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and laboratory reporting software).

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
