Job Summary
The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical and hospital equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted clinical operations. The role supports doctors, nurses, and clinical staff by maintaining equipment performance in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, and validate medical equipment and systems
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical and hospital equipment
Diagnose faults and repair equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime
Respond to breakdown calls and emergency service requests
Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and calibration reports
Ensure compliance with safety standards, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines
Coordinate with equipment vendors and OEMs for major repairs and AMC/CMC activities
Train hospital staff on basic equipment operation and care when required
Conduct routine safety checks and performance testing
Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements (NABH, JCI, etc.)
