a. Installation & Commissioning
• Site survey before installation - load calculation, space, ventilation, battery room
• Physical installation of UPS, batteries, battery racks, panels
• Electrical connections: Input, Output, Bypass, Earthing
• Configuration & commissioning: Setting parameters, voltage, frequency, battery backup time
• Testing load transfer between Main, UPS, and Bypass
b. Preventive Maintenance - AMC/Breakdown
• Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly PM as per company schedule
• Cleaning dust, checking loose connections, tightening terminals
• Battery health check: Voltage, specific gravity, internal resistance, backup test
• Capacitor, fan, IGBT, PCB inspection
• Firmware updates and calibration
• Maintaining service reports and logbooks
c. Breakdown & Troubleshooting
• Attend breakdown calls within SLA - usually 4 to 24 hours
• Fault diagnosis using error codes, multimeter, software tools
• Component level repair: Replace PCBs, fans, capacitors, SCR, IGBT modules
• Battery replacement and load testing
• Coordinating with senior engineers for major faults
d. Customer & Reporting Responsibilities
• Customer coordination: Explain fault, solution, and preventive actions to client
• Documentation: Service reports, job cards, material consumption, downtime report
• AMC Management: Track contract expiry, upsell AMC renewals
• Spare parts management: Raise indent for parts, maintain van stock
• Training: Give basic training to client staff on UPS operation
e. Safety & Compliance
• Follow electrical safety: Lockout-Tagout, PPE, insulated tools
• Battery handling safety - acid spills, hydrogen gas risk
• Ensure proper disposal of old batteries as per pollution norms
• Maintain compliance with company and OEM safety standards
