Body Shop Advisor
The Body Shop Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers, insurance companies, and the collision repair team. This role is responsible for inspecting vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, coordinating repairs, and ensuring a smooth, transparent customer experience from intake through delivery.
Greet customers and assess vehicle damage
Explain repair processes, timelines, and costs clearly
Provide regular updates on repair status
Handle customer questions, concerns, and follow-ups professionally
Perform vehicle damage inspections
Prepare accurate repair estimates using estimating software (e.g., CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)
Document pre-existing damage and take photos for records and insurance claims
Review supplements and adjust estimates as needed
Communicate with insurance adjusters to negotiate and approve repairs
Ensure repairs comply with insurance and manufacturer guidelines
Process claim documentation and approvals in a timely manner
Work closely with technicians and painters to schedule repairs
Order necessary parts and track deliveries
Monitor repair progress and ensure deadlines are met
Conduct final vehicle walk-throughs before delivery
Maintain accurate repair orders and customer records
Ensure compliance with shop policies and safety standards
Assist with invoicing and final billing
High school diploma or equivalent (automotive training preferred)
Previous experience in a body shop, collision center, or automotive service role
Knowledge of collision repair processes and terminology
Familiarity with estimating software and insurance procedures
Valid driver’s license
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and organizational ability

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Combination of office and shop floor settings
May require standing, walking, and inspecting vehicles
