Service advisor

An Automotive Service Advisor acts as the critical link between customers and the service department at a car dealership or repair shop. They are responsible for understanding customer needs, communicating those needs to technicians, and ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction throughout the repair process. They also handle scheduling, invoicing, and parts ordering. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Communication:

  Greeting customers, listening to their concerns, and clearly explaining necessary repairs, costs, and timelines. 

• Technical Expertise:

  Understanding basic automotive systems and technology, as well as manufacturer and dealership service policies. 

• Estimates and Invoicing:

  Developing accurate repair estimates, preparing repair orders, and collecting payments. 

• Scheduling and Workflow:

  Managing the service center's schedule and workflow to ensure efficient and timely service. 

• Relationship Building:

  Fostering positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and maintain satisfaction. 

• Parts Ordering:

  Coordinating with manufacturers and other sources for necessary parts and materials. 

• Warranty and Insurance:

  Understanding warranty and service contract coverage to advise customers on potential savings.
