Role Objective

As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic systems and components. You will work with high-pressure systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently according to technical specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Assembly: Read and interpret technical drawings and hydraulic schematics to assemble and install hydraulic circuits, pumps, motors, and valves.
Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on hydraulic systems; diagnose faults and perform repairs on cylinders, hoses, and power units.
System Testing: Use pressure gauges and diagnostic tools to test system functionality and ensure performance meets design parameters.
Pipework & Hosing: Fabricate, bend, and install high-pressure piping and hoses, ensuring leak-free connections and proper routing.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) protocols, especially regarding high-pressure fluid safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system test results.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum [X] years of experience as a Hydraulic Fitter or in a similar mechanical trade.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hydraulic principles (Pascal’s Law), fluid power symbols, and system logic.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, torque wrenches, tube benders, and hydraulic testing equipment.
Certifications: Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade) or equivalent.
Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system failures under pressure.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in demanding industrial environments, including lifting and working in confined spaces.
