Multi-Skilled Technician (MST) is a versatile professional responsible for conducting preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple technical domains—such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems

1. Core Technical Competencies

• Electrical Systems: Proficient in troubleshooting faults, reading schematic diagrams, maintaining circuit breakers, and basic wiring.

• Mechanical Maintenance: Experience repairing motors, pumps, control panels, and rotating equipment.

• HVAC & Refrigeration: Ability to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot air-conditioning units, chillers, and ventilation systems.

• Plumbing Basics: Capable of handling pipes, valves, fixtures, and water supply/drainage systems.

• Building Operations: Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Diesel Generators (DG sets), and UPS maintenance.

2. Operational & Diagnostic Skills

• Troubleshooting: The ability to logically diagnose faults across various combined systems.

• Preventive Maintenance: Executing scheduled checks, following checklists, and completing routine upkeep to avoid equipment failures.

• Reading Drawings & Manuals: Interpreting technical blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders.

• Basic IT & Networking: Managing hardware setups, basic networking, and maintaining digital logs or service records.

3. Soft Skills & Safety

• Multitasking: Managing multiple maintenance requests across different trades and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to workplace safety regulations, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and lockout/tagout procedures.

• Communication & Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with facility managers, engineers, and external vendors.

• Problem-Solving: Adapting to unforeseen equipment failures and engineering practical, on-the-spot solutions.
