Mechanical Aptitude:
Proficiency with hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, grinders, torque wrenches).
Understanding mechanical systems: gears, belts, pulleys, bearings, pumps, and valves.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Electrical Knowledge:
Understanding low-voltage and high-voltage AC/DC circuits.
Ability to use testing instruments like digital multimeters, ammeters, and megohmmeters.
Basic wiring, replacing fuses, switches, motors, and breakers.
Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for industrial setups.
Hydraulics & Pneumatics:
Troubleshooting fluid and air pressure systems, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
Reading pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
HVAC Systems (Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning):
Basic maintenance of air handlers, compressors, filters, and ductwork.
EPA certification (for handling refrigerants, if applicable).
Welding & Fabrication:
Basic TIG, MIG, or Stick welding skills for structural or machine repairs.
Pipefitting and basic metal fabrication.
Plumbing & Facilities Maintenance:
Repairing pipe leaks, unblocking drainage systems, and replacing fixture fittings.
Basic carpentry, masonry, and wall painting/patching for facility maintenance.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM):
Performing routine inspections, lubrication, filter replacements, and belt tensioning.
Using predictive techniques (vibration analysis, thermal imaging/thermography).
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Ability to systematically isolate root causes of equipment failures rather than just treating symptoms.
Computer Literacy & CMMS:
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (e.g., SAP, Fiix, UpKeep) to log work orders, track spare parts, and record machine downtime.
