Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, repair, and calibrate biomedical devices (e.g., monitors, ventilators, diagnostic machines) and general facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).

• Preventive Care: Conduct routine inspections and planned maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.

• Compliance: Ensure all work meets strict safety, regulatory (like NABH, FDA), and hospital standards.

• Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and clinical staff to understand needs and provide training.

• Installation & Setup: Assist with the installation and testing of new medical equipment.

• Inventory: Manage spare parts and supplies for equipment. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, with specific knowledge of medical equipment.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking to troubleshoot complex issues.

• Communication: Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.

• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy for calibration and documentation.

• Education: Relevant technical certification or degree (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Electronics). 

Work Environment

• Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs, or production facilities.

• Requires responding to emergency calls and potentially working shifts or outside normal hours.
