Maintenance Technician

DCC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Shredder Operator and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This vital dual-role position is responsible for the efficient operation of industrial shredding equipment and the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous and safe operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and experience in operating heavy machinery in an industrial or recycling environment

Responsibilities

·        Operate industrial shredding machinery to process various materials (e.g., metal, plastic, paper, electronic scraps) according to established procedures and quality standards.

·        Monitor the shredding process, including material flow, machine performance, and output quality

·        Perform routine and preventative maintenance on shredder equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of components such as hammers, grates, and liners.

·        Respond to emergency breakdowns and implement corrective actions swiftly to minimize operational disruptions.

·        Utilize welding and fabrication skills for repairs as needed.

·        Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, regulations, and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
