Lift/Elevator Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Lift/Elevator Service & Maintenance Technician to handle the routine maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and smooth operation of lifts at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of elevators/lifts.

• Inspect lift components including traction machines, motors, brakes, controllers, doors, sensors, ropes, guide rails, and safety devices.

• Attend customer complaints and breakdown calls and ensure timely resolution.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-system faults.

• Perform routine servicing, adjustment, lubrication, and replacement of defective components.

• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure elevators are operating as per company safety standards.

• Maintain proper service records, maintenance reports, and breakdown reports.

• Coordinate with the Service Coordinator, Service Head, Installation Team, and customers as required.

• Ensure availability and proper use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.

• Follow company safety procedures and use appropriate PPE while working at sites.

• Maintain professional communication and good working relationships with customers.

• Identify recurring faults and report them to the concerned senior/technical team.

• Support modernization, upgrading, and other technical service activities when required.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of lift/elevator electrical and mechanical systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot elevator faults independently.

• Basic knowledge of control panels, VFDs, relays, contactors, sensors, and safety circuits.

• Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams.

• Good problem-solving and technical skills.

• Willingness to travel to customer/project sites.

• Ability to work at height and in site environments.

• Good discipline, punctuality, and customer-handling skills.

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related technical trade.

• Relevant experience in elevator/lift service and maintenance will be preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in elevator installation, commissioning, maintenance, breakdown service, or modernization will be preferred.

• It is a Full Time Technician job for candidates with 6 months - 4 years of experience.
