Job Description

An HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs residential or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical/mechanical faults, performing routine maintenance (cleaning, filter replacement), and ensuring systems meet safety codes. They must possess strong troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge of HVAC components, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Repair: Installing new, energy-efficient units, repairing broken systems, and replacing defective parts.
Maintenance: Conducting preventative maintenance on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing malfunctions and system errors to determine the best repair solutions.
Safety & Compliance: Adhering to manufacturer guidelines, local HVAC codes, and safety procedures (e.g., handling refrigerants).
Customer Interaction: Advising clients on maintenance, system performance, and, if needed, recommending upgrades.
Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed, accurate logs of work performed and parts used.
