GPS Technician

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Setup

   • Install GPS devices in vehicles, heavy machinery, survey equipment, or handheld units.

   • Calibrate devices for accurate positioning and navigation.

2. Maintenance & Repairs

   • Diagnose and fix issues with GPS hardware (antennas, receivers, wiring).

   • Update GPS software/firmware to keep systems running smoothly.

3. Testing & Troubleshooting

   • Run diagnostics to ensure devices are receiving satellite signals correctly.

   • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, battery problems, or signal interference.

4. Data Handling

   • Configure systems to log GPS data (routes, locations, speeds).

   • Transfer and analyze GPS data for fleet tracking, mapping, or surveying.

5. Customer/Operator Support

   • Train users (drivers, surveyors, field staff) on how to use GPS equipment.

   • Provide support if devices malfunction or give inaccurate readings.
