Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities

An Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and completing technical and construction-related activities while ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision

   • Monitor daily site activities and workforce.

   • Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.

   • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and labor teams.

2. Quality Control

   • Inspect construction materials and workmanship.

   • Ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.

   • Report and rectify defects or non-conformities.

3. Project Planning and Execution

   • Prepare work schedules and monitor progress.

   • Ensure project milestones are achieved within the timeline.

   • Coordinate resources effectively to avoid delays.

4. Safety Management

   • Implement and enforce safety regulations at the site.

   • Conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks.

   • Ensure the use of proper safety equipment and procedures.

5. Technical Coordination

   • Review drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

   • Resolve technical issues arising during execution.

   • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and clients.

6. Material Management

   • Verify material requirements and consumption.

   • Monitor inventory and arrange procurement when required.

   • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.

7. Documentation and Reporting

   • Maintain daily progress reports and site records.

   • Prepare measurement sheets, billing documents, and work completion reports.

   • Document inspections, approvals, and site instructions.

8. Client and Team Communication

   • Attend project meetings and provide updates.

   • Address client concerns and coordinate corrective actions.

   • Support team members and ensure smooth project execution.
