Key Roles & Responsibilities
Installation & Setup: Mount, position, and calibrate HD/IP cameras, DVR/NVR units, power supply units, and display monitors across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Cabling & Trunking: Lay down and route Cat 6 Ethernet cabling, coaxial wires, power lines, and conduit/casing trunking neatly and safely according to site layouts.
Network & Software Configuration: Configure IP addresses, port forwarding, router settings, and Video Management Software (VMS) to enable live remote view and 24/7 monitoring capabilities.
System Testing & Inspection: Perform thorough testing of camera angles, night-vision infrared capabilities, motion detection triggers, audio channels, and storage recording schedules before handoff.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, video loss, signal interference, network disconnection, power faults, and faulty hardware.
Client Handover & Documentation: Guide clients on basic system operation, provide handover documentation, and maintain site installation logs.
Cabling & Hardware Expertise: Proficiency with Cat 6 structured cabling, RJ45 crimping, BNC connectors, PoE switches, and camera mounting hardware.
Networking Knowledge: Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN setup, routers, switches, static/dynamic IP configuration, and DNS setup for remote monitoring.
