Broadband Wi-Fi Technician
Job Summary
Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadband internet, Wi-Fi routers, fiber/FTTH connections, and related networking equipment at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
Install and activate broadband/FTTH connections.
Configure Wi-Fi routers, ONTs, modems, and network devices.
Troubleshoot internet connectivity, slow-speed, and Wi-Fi issues.
Handle fiber-optic cable installation, splicing, and basic testing.
Visit customer premises for installation and technical support.
Identify and resolve cable, connector, router, and signal-related faults.
Maintain installation and service records.
Explain basic Wi-Fi usage and troubleshooting to customers.
Follow company safety and technical procedures.
Required Skills
Basic knowledge of networking and Wi-Fi.
Understanding of LAN, WAN, IP addresses, DHCP, and routers.
Knowledge of fiber/FTTH connections is an advantage.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors and travel to customer locations.
Good communication and customer-service skills.
Qualification
10th/12th pass, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification. Freshers may also be considered depending on the employer.
Experience
0–2 years in broadband, FTTH, Wi-Fi, networking, or telecom field preferred.
Typical Equipment
Wi-Fi routers, ONTs, fiber cables, power meters, optical tools, LAN testers, connectors, and basic networking tools.
