AC Technician

We are finding an AC technician who knows installs, maintains, and repairs air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems run efficiently and safely. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and good customer service abilities. 

Core responsibilities

• Installation: Installing new air conditioning systems according to project specifications. 

• Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance, such as cleaning filters and coils, to ensure optimal system performance. 

• Repair: Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and repairing or replacing defective components like compressors, motors, and thermostats. 

• System upkeep: Recharging refrigerant systems and examining duct work for problems. 

• Safety and compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and building codes. 

Essential skills and qualifications

• Technical skills:

  Proficiency in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and repairing various AC systems. 

• Problem-solving:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues. 

• Customer service:

  Excellent communication skills to explain issues and repairs to clients and answer their questions. 

• Record keeping:

  Maintaining detailed records of services performed, parts used, and client information. 

• Physical ability:

  Ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy equipment. 

• Certifications:

  Completion of an accredited HVAC program and relevant certifications, such as EPA 608, are often required. 

Other duties

• Preparing cost estimates for services and parts.

• Collaborating with other technicians and project managers.

• Using hand and power tools of own, as well as testing and diagnostic equipment.

• Managing an inventory of parts and supplies
