Job Title: Caregiver - Community Residential Program for Adults with Autism

Role Overview:

The caregiver provides compassionate, individualized support to adults with autism residing in a community residential setting. The role focuses on fostering independence, emotional well-being, safety, and social engagement through daily assistance and personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.

Support medication reminders and basic health monitoring following training and protocols.

Encourage independence in self-help skills and daily routines with patience and positive reinforcement.

Promote safe and supportive environments, ensuring infection control, hygiene, and safety measures.

Monitor residents for behavioural or sensory challenges and respond calmly using trained techniques.

Facilitate social participation, recreational activities, and community outings.

Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, changes in health or behaviour, and incident reports.
