Music Teacher

We are looking for a Western Music Teacher to join our team at K.R. Mangalam University with a strong background in one or more academic subjects. Responsible for teaching Western vocal & instrumental music to university students. Develop students' musical skills, performance techniques, and cultural appreciation as per international syllabus standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Curriculum: Plan and deliver lessons in Western Music - Vocal, Piano/Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, Trumpet, Violin, etc. Cover Music Theory, Scales, Chords, Harmony, Sight-reading, and Aural Training Prepare students for Trinity College London / ABRSM / Rock school examinations Conduct both group classes and one-on-one practical training sessions

Student Development: Organize Music Club, Choir, Band, and Orchestra Coordinate cultural programs, concerts, annual fest, and stage performances Train students for inter-university competitions and events.

Administration: Maintain and tune musical instruments Manage music studio inventory and ensure proper upkeep Handle basic sound system setup for stage programs

Required Qualifications:

Education: B.A./M.A. in Western Music or Diploma/Certificate from Trinity/ABRSM/Rock school. B. Ed/Music Education preferred

Experience: 3+ years teaching experience in CBSE/ICSE schools preferred.

Skills: Proficiency in at least 2 Indian instruments + vocal. Stage performance experience. Good classroom management.

Desired Skills: Ability to compose tunes for school prayers/songs Knowledge of sound system setup for stage programs Computer skills for digital music recording/editing
