Job Purpose

To teach Mathematics effectively to students, fostering conceptual understanding, problem-solving ability, and a positive attitude towards learning. The teacher is expected to contribute to the overall growth and well-being of students while supporting Sevalaya’s mission of accessible and quality education for all.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the school curriculum (State Board/CBSE as applicable).

• Explain concepts clearly using activity-based, practical, and child-friendly teaching methods.

• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments.

• Conduct regular class tests, unit tests, and examinations and maintain records of student performance.

• Provide additional support to slow learners through remedial classes.

Classroom & Student Management

• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.

• Encourage logical thinking, problem-solving, and real-life application of mathematical concepts.

• Track the academic and personal progress of students and provide feedback.

Administrative & Organizational Duties

• Maintain student attendance, academic records, and documentation as required by the school.

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and parent-teacher meetings.

• Assist in organizing school activities, events, and academic initiatives.

Community & Value-Based Education

• Promote Sevalaya’s core values such as discipline, compassion, honesty, and social responsibility.

• Engage with parents, volunteers, and community stakeholders wherever needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have completed B.Sc Mathematics or M.Sc Mathematics

• Must have completed B.Ed

• Must have minimum 1 year of experience into Teaching

• Strong understanding of school-level Mathematics concepts.

• Passion for teaching children from underserved backgrounds.

• Good communication skills in Tamil/English (as applicable).

• It is a Full Time Teacher / Tutor job for candidates with 1 - 6+ years Experience.
