Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and organized female candidate to join our team as an entry-level Librarian. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing library resources, assisting patrons, and promoting a culture of reading and learning within the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Resource Management: Organize and maintain the library's collection, including cataloging and shelving books, periodicals, and digital media.

• Patron Assistance: Help library users locate materials and provide guidance on using library resources effectively.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of library transactions, including check-outs, returns, and inventory audits.

• Program Coordination: Assist in organizing library programs and events, such as reading clubs and educational workshops.

• Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to library policies and procedures by all patrons.

• Digital Literacy: Utilize library management software and digital databases to manage resources and assist patrons.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Arts (BA) or Library Science (B.Lib.Sc).

• Experience: 0–1 year of experience in a library or similar environment.

• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with library management systems.

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English and Tamil.

• Interpersonal Skills: Friendly and approachable demeanor with a passion for reading and learning.
