About the Role

As Hostess at Zuru Zuru, you’ll be the welcoming face and guiding voice for our guests. From greeting and seating to managing reservations and supporting events, you’ll ensure every guest’s experience reflects our philosophy of omotenashi (wholehearted hospitality).

This role goes beyond simply showing guests to their tables — it’s about creating meaningful first impressions, fostering connections, and helping build a warm, memorable atmosphere that keeps our community coming back.

Key Responsibilities

• Hostess Responsibilities

• Reservation Management: Handle reservations across the resevation, phone & walk in while keeping accurate records and seating charts.

• Guest Hosting: Greet and welcome guests warmly, guide them to tables, provide menus, and ensure a smooth start to their dining experience.

• Guest Engagement: Anticipate guest needs, personalize service for special occasions, and foster loyalty with both new and regular guests.

• Issue Resolution: Address guest concerns calmly, resolve complaints professionally, and escalate issues to management when needed.

• Team Coordination: Communicate effectively with floor, and operations staff to maintain seamless service and guest flow.

• Floor Management: Maintain the dining environment by overseeing music, lighting, flowers, and cleanliness to reflect Zuru Zuru’s Omotenashi standards.

• Record Keeping: Update guest records, maintain communication logs, and collect feedback to support continuous improvement.
