Key Responsibilities

1. Cleaning & Sanitation

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and workstations.

• Dispose of waste properly and maintain cleanliness in garbage areas.

2. Equipment Handling

• Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.

• Ensure all cleaned items are dried, polished, and stored correctly.

• Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to supervisors.

3. Kitchen Support

• Assist chefs with basic food prep if required (e.g., cleaning vegetables).

• Refill soap, sanitizers, and cleaning supplies.

• Ensure proper stock of clean dishes, glassware, and utensils during service hours.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or company standards).

• Wear proper protective gear and maintain personal hygiene.

• Ensure chemicals and cleaning agents are used safely.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a steward or in a similar role preferred.

• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and cleaning techniques.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for long hours.

Working Conditions

• Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Fast-paced kitchen environment with heat, noise, and movement.
