A steward's job involves maintaining cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction in hospitality (restaurants, hotels, events) or transport (planes, ships) by cleaning, restocking, washing dishes, assisting staff, and sometimes greeting/seating guests, ensuring high hygiene standards and a pleasant environment. Key duties include cleaning tables, washing dishes, stocking supplies, assisting servers, handling linen, and ensuring safety/sanitation. 

Core Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Sanitation: Washing dishes, sanitizing utensils, cleaning floors, tables, and food prep areas, and managing trash.

• Guest Service: Greeting guests, seating them, refilling drinks, delivering items from the kitchen/bar, and addressing minor queries.

• Support & Stocking: Stocking server stations (napkins, utensils, condiments) and assisting waitstaff.

• Operational Support: Assisting with opening/closing tasks, unloading stock, and moving linen.

• Environment Maintenance: Setting tables, arranging seating, and ensuring dining areas are orderly and pleasant. 

Key Skills & Requirements

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, push, pull, and bend.

• Teamwork: Strong ability to collaborate with kitchen and service staff.

• Attention to Detail: Commitment to high hygiene and presentation standards.

• Communication: Clear and polite interaction with guests and team members.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends.
