Reports To: Captain / Restaurant Manager

Job Summary

The Steward is responsible for providing excellent guest service, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Service: Welcome guests, assist with seating, present menus, and provide prompt and courteous service.

2. Food & Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards and ensure accurate order delivery.

3. Table Management: Set up tables, maintain proper table arrangements, and ensure timely clearing and resetting.

4. Guest Satisfaction: Respond politely to guest requests and promptly communicate complaints to the Captain or Restaurant Manager.

5. Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, service stations, and the overall dining area.

6. Coordination: Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and service team to ensure timely and accurate service.

7. SOP Compliance: Follow restaurant service standards, grooming policies, food safety guidelines, and operational procedures.

8. Equipment Handling: Handle crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other service equipment carefully to minimize breakage.

9. Teamwork: Support colleagues during busy hours, weekends, and special events or parties.

10. Professional Conduct: Maintain punctuality, discipline, a positive attitude, and professional behavior at all times.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum qualification: 10th or 12th pass preferred.

• Previous experience in restaurant or hotel service is preferred; freshers may also apply.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.

• Presentable appearance with proper grooming and hygiene.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards.

• Minimum avoidable breakage and wastage.

• Compliance with attendance, grooming, and service SOPs.

Note: The Steward must follow all instructions issued by the Captain, Restaurant Manager, and management and contribute to maintaining Carnivale's service quality and guest satisfaction standards.
