JOB DESCRIPTION – RESTAURANT CAPTAIN

Position: Restaurant Captain
Department: Food & Beverage / Service
Location: Farmhouse Group of Hotels and Restaurants
Reporting To: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant service operations.

• Allocate duties to waiters and service staff.

• Ensure proper table setup, service standards, and guest satisfaction.

• Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

• Coordinate with the kitchen and bar team for timely order service.

• Handle guest requests and service-related complaints professionally.

• Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and discipline of service staff.

• Ensure proper billing and coordination with the cashier when required.

• Train and guide junior service staff on service standards and procedures.

• Check restaurant readiness before opening and ensure proper closing procedures.

• Monitor service equipment, cutlery, crockery, and other operational requirements.

• Support the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor in smooth day-to-day operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 2–4 years in restaurant/hotel service, preferably in a Captain or Senior Waiter role.

• Good knowledge of food & beverage service.

• Good communication and guest-handling skills.

• Strong team-handling and coordination skills.

• Well-groomed, disciplined, and customer-focused.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

• Qualification: Hotel Management / Hospitality qualification preferred.
