A Steward (Service Staff / Waiter) in a café is responsible for smooth guest service, order handling, and maintaining hygiene standards.
1️⃣ Guest Service
Greet customers politely and seat them (if required)
Present menu and explain specials / combos
Take accurate food & beverage orders
Suggest add-ons (desserts, extra toppings, beverages)
Ensure quick and friendly service
Handle basic customer complaints politely
2️⃣ Order Coordination
Punch orders into POS system
Coordinate with barista/kitchen staff
Serve food & beverages as per service standards
Check back with guests for satisfaction
Clear tables after guests leave
3️⃣ Hygiene & Cleanliness
Maintain table cleanliness
Ensure cutlery, crockery are clean
Follow grooming standards (uniform, hygiene)
Maintain café floor cleanliness during shift
4️⃣ Billing & Cash Handling (if assigned)
Present bill to customer
Handle cash / UPI / card payments
Close bills correctly in POS
5️⃣ Opening & Closing Duties
Set up tables before opening
Refill condiments
Stack service items
Assist in closing cleaning activities
