Job Opening: Video Editor (Geopolitics & History)
The Role: Crafting Visual Epics from Global Events
Our YouTube news portal is looking for a visionary Video Editor to join our production team. We don’t just report the news; we explain the world through high-quality geopolitical analysis and historical deep dives.
We are looking for an editor who can take complex scripts about international relations and transform them into highly attractive, "documentary-style" cinematic experiences. If you have a passion for visual storytelling and can make a map or a historical archive feel like a scene from a thriller, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
High-End Visual Assembly: Edit long-form and short-form videos with a focus on high retention, visual polish, and professional pacing.
Geopolitical Visualization: Use maps, satellite imagery, and data visualizations to make abstract geopolitical concepts (like supply chains, maritime borders, or troop movements) clear and engaging.
Historical Reconstruction: Curate and blend archival footage, historical photos, and stock assets to bring the past to life with modern flair.
Sound Design & Score: Implement immersive soundscapes, foley, and orchestral scores that heighten the emotional and intellectual impact of the narrative.
Motion Graphics: Create or customize motion graphics, lower thirds, and titles that maintain a consistent, premium brand identity.
Color Grading: Apply sophisticated color grading to ensure a cohesive, "cinematic" look across various source materials.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical Expertise: Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro ,Proficiency in After Effects (specifically for map animations and text motion) is highly preferred.
Genre Experience: A strong portfolio showing experience in documentary, news analysis, or high-retention YouTube content. Experience in the geopolitics/history niche is a massive plus.
Visual Intelligence: An innate understanding of how to use B-roll to reinforce a script, ensuring that the visuals always serve the educational mission of the video.
Efficiency & Deadline Driven: Ability to manage large project files and meet strict publishing schedules without sacrificing quality.
Passion for News: A genuine interest in global affairs. You should know the difference between the South China Sea and the Baltic Sea, and why that distinction matters visually.
Preferred Skills
Experience with GIS (Geographic Information System) tools for realistic map rendering.
Basic understanding of 3D software (e.g., Blender) for architectural or terrain visualization.
Background in Mass Communication or Film Studies( optional).
What We Offer
Creative Impact: Your edits will define the visual soul of a channel reaching millions of viewers.
Professional Growth: Opportunity to experiment with the latest editing techniques and high-budget stock libraries.
