
The Projection Technician is responsible for the smooth operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital cinema projection and sound systems. The role requires a strong electrician background to handle electrical systems, safety compliance, and technical coordination to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality movie presentation at PVR Cinemas.
Operate and monitor digital cinema projectors (DCP), servers, and sound systems.
Ensure accurate show scheduling, content loading, and playback as per show timings.
Perform regular checks to maintain picture and sound quality.
Handle electrical wiring, panels, UPS, stabilizers, and power distribution related to projection systems.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults affecting projection, sound, or related equipment.
Carry out preventive maintenance of projection rooms and technical equipment.
Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of projectors and lenses.
Coordinate with vendors/service engineers for major repairs and AMC-related activities.
Maintain proper logs for breakdowns, servicing, and spare parts usage.
Follow electrical safety norms, fire safety standards, and company SOPs.
Ensure proper earthing, insulation, and safe handling of electrical equipment.
Support statutory audits and safety inspections.
Coordinate with cinema operations, housekeeping, and security teams during shows.
Provide technical support during premieres, special screenings, and live events.
Respond promptly to technical emergencies during operational hours.
ITI / Diploma in Electrician or equivalent technical qualification.
Certification or experience in electrical maintenance is mandatory.
Knowledge of digital cinema projection systems is preferred (training will be provided if required).
1–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in cinemas, theaters, malls, hotels, or similar environments.
