A CCTV Technician installs, configures, maintains, and repairs video surveillance systems (cameras, DVRs/NVRs, monitors) in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They are responsible for wiring, network setup, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring optimal system performance to enhance security.
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Mounting, positioning, and configuring cameras, cables, and recording devices.
Maintenance & Repair: Conducting regular inspections, cleaning, and repairing hardware/software faults to prevent system downtime

Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing connectivity, image quality, or recording issues.
Networking: Setting up IP cameras and integrating surveillance systems with network infrastructure.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repairs.
Client Support: Guiding users on system operation and providing technical support.
Requirements & Skills
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of CCTV systems, camera types, and, in some cases, alarm systems.
Networking Skills: Proficiency with IP addressing, networking, and software configuration.
Physical Ability: Capability to work at heights (ladders) and in various environments.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to identify technical issues efficiently.
Communication: Ability to explain technical issues to clients clearly.
