Key Responsibilities
Projection & Playback: Operate projectors (digital/film), manage server content (DCP, LANsat), schedule films/pre-rolls, and handle playback for various formats.
Audio & Lighting: Rig, program, and operate sound systems and lighting equipment, including digital desks, ensuring quality audio and visual presentation.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all technical equipment (projection, sound, lighting, AV, hearing enhancement systems).
Content Management: Ingest, prepare, and check film prints and digital packages, ensuring correct screening keys and distribution.
Technical Support: Provide support for live events, festivals, educational programs, and assist with stage work (get-ins/outs, rigging).
Quality Control: Monitor quality of recordings, check for focus, framing, and apply color correction (like DIT tasks) to raw footage for preview.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations (manual handling, working at height) and manage technical operations professionally.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in projection, sound mixing, lighting programming, and digital cinema systems (DCP, QLab).
Digital Knowledge: Understanding of digital workflows, server management, and potentially DIT tasks like color correction.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly during live shows.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication for collaborating with directors, production teams, and managing freelance staff.
Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple screenings and technical setups.
Experience: Background in theatre, film, or broadcasting technical roles.
