Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to design efficient and cost-effective solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of solar system design, electrical engineering principles, and relevant design software. The role involves preparing technical drawings, system layouts, energy generation calculations, and supporting project execution teams.
Key Responsibilities -
Design rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, string layouts, earthing layouts, and cable routing drawings.
Perform site assessment and analyse project feasibility.
Size solar PV systems, inverters, cables, protection devices, and other electrical components.
Prepare detailed BOQ (Bill of Quantities), BOM (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.
Conduct energy yield analysis using industry-standard software.
Coordinate with the sales, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure accurate system design.
Ensure all designs comply with electrical standards, safety regulations, and local utility requirements.
Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning.
Maintain design documentation and update project records.
Required Qualifications -
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
1–4 years of experience in solar PV system design.
Freshers with strong technical knowledge and software proficiency may also be considered.
Required Skills -
Knowledge of solar PV system design and electrical engineering principles.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Experience with PVsyst, Helioscope, SketchUp, or similar solar design software.
Knowledge of net metering, grid-connected and off-grid solar systems.
Understanding of electrical protection systems and applicable standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
