Job Summary

The Production Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, carrying out manufacturing activities as per standard operating procedures, maintaining product quality, and ensuring safe and efficient production. The role requires close coordination with the production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to achieve production targets and maintain workplace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machines and equipment safely and efficiently.

• Follow approved SOPs, work instructions, and production schedules.

• Carry out production activities according to quality and safety requirements.

• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or process deviations to the supervisor.

• Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting.

• Ensure proper handling and use of raw materials, components, and finished products.

• Conduct in-process inspections and report quality issues to the Quality team.

• Maintain accurate production records, checklists, and shift reports.

• Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the production area.

• Follow 5S, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and other workplace standards.

• Support machine changeovers, line setup, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance activities.

• Minimize material wastage, production downtime, and rework.

• Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment breakdowns and technical issues.

• Coordinate with Quality and Production Supervisors regarding non-conformities and corrective actions.

• Ensure proper handover of production status and pending activities between shifts.

• Follow company policies, statutory requirements, and EHS guidelines.

• Perform any other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Required Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, or a related technical field.

• Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.

• Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of production processes and machinery.

• Ability to read and understand work instructions and basic technical drawings.

• Basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting knowledge, depending on the production process.

• Good observation and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to maintain production records and documentation.

• Knowledge of workplace safety and 5S practices.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to work in shifts, including night shifts when required.

Working Conditions

• Work in a manufacturing/production environment.

• Shift-based working may be required.

• Use of appropriate PPE is mandatory.

• The role may require standing for extended periods and working around production machinery.
