Hardware Design & IC Integration
- Lead system-level hardware architecture for camera-based products
- Own IC selection and integration (image sensors, SoCs, PMICs, serializers/deserializers, memory, and supporting components)
- Design high-speed camera PCBs including schematic capture, layout guidance, and design reviews
- Ensure signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal considerations are met
- Collaborate closely with firmware, software, production, and assembly teams during bring-up and integration
PCB Development & Bring-Up
- Drive PCB design cycles from concept to production-ready hardware
- Support board bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization
- Partner with manufacturing, production, and assembly teams to ensure DFM/DFA best practices
- Work with external PCB vendors, assemblers, and component suppliers
- Review and approve layout for high-speed and sensitive analog sections
Validation & Infrastructure
- Set up and own in-house hardware design, test, and validation infrastructure
- Define hardware validation plans, test coverage, and acceptance criteria (STQC, and related)
- Specify and procure lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers, camera test equipment, etc.)
- Develop and document validation procedures, test setups, and debug workflows
- Establish best practices for design documentation, version control, and release processes
Technical Leadership
- Act as the technical hardware lead for camera-related projects
- Mentor junior engineers and review their designs
- Drive cross-functional technical discussions and design decisions
- Balance speed, cost, and reliability in a startup environment
