Job Description for Primary / PYP Teacher

Role Overview

The Primary Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, inquiry-based instruction that supports the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of primary school students. The role focuses on creating a positive and structured learning environment aligned with age-appropriate curriculum standards and best teaching practices.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective lessons using a variety of teaching strategies such as storytelling, hands-on activities, group work, and educational resources

• Implement inquiry-based and experiential learning aligned with primary curriculum objectives

• Assess, observe, and document student progress to support differentiated learning needs

• Foster students’ social skills, confidence, emotional well-being, and independence

• Encourage positive peer interaction, collaboration, and respectful classroom behaviour

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress and development

• Maintain classroom discipline, hygiene, safety, and learning materials as per school guidelines

• Collaborate with coordinators and school leadership to implement curriculum plans and school initiatives

Educational Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline

• Certification / Diploma in Montessori or ELC Bridge Course (mandatory)

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Primary / Elementary School Teacher

• Experience in structured school settings preferred

• Excellent communication, classroom management, and instructional skills

• Ability to balance creativity with structured academic outcomes
