JOB DESCRIPTION – SPECIAL EDUCATOR

Position: Special Educator
Organisation: Resplice Child Development Centre
Location: Hyderabad

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, skilled and motivated Special Educators to join our multidisciplinary child development team. The Special Educator will work closely with children with developmental, learning, behavioural and communication needs and support their academic, functional, social and emotional development.

The role involves individualised intervention, classroom support, parent collaboration and coordination with therapists and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to child development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct functional and educational assessments to identify individual learning needs.

• Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child’s strengths, needs and developmental goals.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group special education sessions.

• Support children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays and other special needs.

• Develop appropriate teaching strategies, visual supports, worksheets, activity-based learning and assistive learning materials.

• Work on academic skills including literacy, numeracy, comprehension, writing and school-readiness skills.

• Develop functional skills, attention, executive functioning, social skills and classroom participation.

• Support behavioural and emotional regulation in coordination with the clinical team.

• Facilitate inclusion and help children transition into mainstream educational settings wherever appropriate.

• Monitor children’s progress and maintain accurate intervention records and session documentation.

• Conduct regular progress reviews and modify intervention goals as required.

• Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, behavioural therapists and other professionals.

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding the child’s progress, challenges and home-based strategies.

• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and team meetings.

• Train and guide parents/caregivers on strategies that can be implemented at home.

• Maintain a child-friendly, safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.

• Follow the organisation’s professional, ethical and child-safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education / Education / Psychology / Rehabilitation-related field.

• RCI-recognised qualification and valid RCI registration will be preferred/required as applicable to the role.

• Candidates with relevant experience working with children with developmental disabilities will be preferred.

• Strong understanding of Individualised Education Plans and evidence-informed educational strategies.

Experience

Freshers: Candidates with the required qualification and strong interest in special education may apply.

Experienced candidates: 1–5+ years of experience in special schools, inclusive schools, child development centres, therapy centres or similar settings preferred.
