The tutor will be responsible for delivering a balanced curriculum covering the full spectrum from initial concept design to final garment construction.
Teach Fashion Illustration and Sketching techniques, including figure drawing (croquis), garment rendering, and technical flats.

Instruct on the Elements and Principles of Design, Color Theory, and current/historical fashion trends.
Guide students through the Design Process, from mood board creation and concept development to final collection planning.
Provide training in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software relevant to fashion, such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for digital rendering and design work.
Conduct hands-on training in Pattern Drafting (flat pattern method) for various garments (blouses, skirts, trousers, kurtis, dresses, etc.).
Teach Draping Techniques on a dress form to create three-dimensional patterns and styles.
Provide expert instruction in Garment Construction and finishing, including seams, hems, plackets, collars, cuffs, and complex closures.
Train students on the effective use of Industrial and Domestic Sewing Machines, overlock machines, and other essential tailoring tools.
Cover Textile Science, including fabric properties, identification, handling, and appropriate use for different garment types.
Develop and update lesson plans, course material, and practical assignments to ensure relevance to current industry standards.
Assess student performance through project evaluation, practical tests, and portfolio reviews.
Mentor students in the creation of a professional Design Portfolio and assist with preparation for industry internships and placements.
Maintain classroom discipline, ensure the safe use of all equipment, and manage inventory of materials in the lab/studio.
Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Dress Designing, or Garment Technology. A Master's degree is a plus.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in the Fashion/Apparel industry (e.g., as a Designer, Pattern Master, or Master Tailor).
Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or vocational training is highly desirable.
Skills & Expertise:
Expert practical skills in Pattern Making and Garment Tailoring/Stitching.
Proficiency in Fashion Illustration (both manual and digital).
In-depth knowledge of textiles, garment costing, and production processes.
Strong communication skills (English, Hindi, and/or Marathi) to effectively convey technical details to diverse students.
