Role Overview:
The school security guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, parents, and visitors within the school premises. This role requires vigilance, discipline, and a caring approach to create a secure yet welcoming environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized persons access the school.
Maintain a visitor log, issue passes, and guide visitors as per school procedures.
Patrol school premises regularly, including classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and parking areas, to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access.
Ensure safe arrival and dispersal of students, assisting with traffic and bus movement when needed.
Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activities and report them to school administration.
Assist in implementing fire drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency protocols.
Ensure gates, doors, and windows are secured after school hours.
Qualifications & Skills:
Prior experience as a security guard, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
Basic training in security protocols, emergency response, and first aid preferred.
Physically fit, alert, and capable of handling emergencies calmly.
Honest, disciplined, and reliable with strong observation skills.
Ability to interact politely with parents, visitors, and children while maintaining authority.
Work Environment:
Stationed at the school entrance and expected to patrol different areas during the day.
Role requires attentiveness, responsibility, and a balance of firmness with warmth in a child-centered environment.
