A Security Guard is responsible for protecting an organization’s property, employees, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment. The role involves monitoring premises, preventing theft or vandalism, and responding to emergencies.
Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety.
Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
Control access to buildings by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.
Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents.
Report suspicious activities, security breaches, or safety hazards.
Write detailed incident and daily activity reports.
Assist employees and visitors as needed.
Enforce company policies and safety regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid security guard license (if required by local law).
Good observation and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm in emergencies.
Basic knowledge of security procedures and public safety.
Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
May work indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions.
Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
May be required to handle stressful or dangerous situations.
