Job Description – Store Team Lead

Job Summary

The Store Team Lead is responsible for supervising Store Associates, ensuring smooth daily store operations, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales and operational targets. The role requires strong leadership, team management, and operational excellence to drive store performance.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, motivate, and supervise Store Associates.

• Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.

• Conduct on-the-job training for new employees.

• Ensure proper shift scheduling and manpower utilization.

• Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.

Store Operations

• Ensure smooth day-to-day store functioning.

• Monitor store opening and closing procedures.

• Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, hygiene, and visual merchandising.

• Ensure adherence to company SOPs and operational guidelines.

Customer Service

• Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations effectively.

• Ensure exceptional customer experience at all times.

• Build customer relationships and encourage repeat business.

• Support customer engagement and loyalty programs.

Sales & Business Performance

• Drive sales through effective team management and customer engagement.

• Monitor daily sales targets and store KPIs.

• Encourage upselling and cross-selling of products.

• Assist in implementing promotional activities and offers.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.

• Coordinate receiving, storage, and stock transfers.

• Conduct inventory checks and stock audits.

• Ensure FIFO practices and minimize stock loss.

Billing & Cash Management

• Supervise billing operations and ensure billing accuracy.

• Handle cash reconciliation and daily store reports.

• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure product quality, freshness, and expiry management.

• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline preferred.

• 2–5 years of experience in retail store operations.

• At least 1 year of team handling experience preferred.
