Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials (e.g., lumber, hardware, fabric) and finished products.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records and inventory levels.
Conduct regular physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.
Implement and enforce stock control procedures, such as First-In, First-Out (FIFO) for materials.
Organize and store all materials in an efficient, safe, and accessible manner, using designated storage areas, racks, and shelves.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
Issue materials to the production and other departments only against authorized requisitions or material lists.
Track and manage dispatched finished goods to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate with procurement to initiate purchase requisitions for low-stock items and with vendors for deliveries.
Generate inventory reports for management review.
Create documentation, such as Material Receiving Reports (MRR).
Report any damages, discrepancies, or safety issues promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a furniture manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Strong inventory management skills, including experience with inventory control software or systems.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is often preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal departments.
Ability to follow safety and health regulations.
