Job Description – Store Associate

Job Summary

The Store Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store hygiene and merchandising standards, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations. The role requires a customer-focused individual who can contribute to sales growth and provide a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers and assist them in locating products.

• Provide information on organic and healthy food products.

• Address customer queries and resolve concerns professionally.

• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

Store Operations

• Arrange and replenish merchandise on shelves.

• Maintain cleanliness and visual merchandising standards.

• Monitor product displays and ensure proper product placement.

• Support smooth store opening and closing activities.

Billing & Cash Handling

• Operate POS/billing systems accurately.

• Handle cash, card, and digital payments.

• Ensure billing accuracy and maintain transaction records.

Inventory Management

• Assist in stock receiving, storage, and stock transfers.

• Monitor product availability and report stock shortages.

• Help conduct stock counts and inventory audits.

• Ensure proper rotation of products (FIFO).

Quality & Compliance

• Check product quality, expiry dates, and packaging conditions.

• Follow company SOPs, hygiene, and food safety standards.

• Ensure compliance with store policies and operational guidelines.

Sales Support

• Promote ongoing offers and loyalty programs.

• Upsell and cross-sell products to customers.

• Assist in achieving store sales targets.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10th Pass / PUC / Any Graduate.

• 0–2 years of experience in retail, FMCG, or customer service.

• Freshers with good communication skills can apply.

Skills Required

• Customer service orientation.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic billing/POS knowledge.

• Teamwork and collaboration.

• Ability to work in shifts and on weekends.
