About the Role
We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused, and proactive Retail Store Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our retail store. The ideal candidate will ensure an exceptional shopping experience for customers while maintaining high standards of store presentation, stock management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products.
Provide accurate product information, including sizing, fabrics, pricing, and styling suggestions.
Resolve customer queries and escalate concerns to the Store Manager when required.
Deliver an outstanding shopping experience to encourage repeat business.
Sales
Achieve individual and store sales targets.
Upsell and cross-sell products wherever appropriate.
Promote ongoing offers, loyalty programs, and new arrivals.
Assist customers throughout the purchase journey to maximize conversions.
Store Operations
Maintain cleanliness and visual merchandising standards throughout the store.
Ensure products are neatly displayed, folded, steamed, and replenished.
Assist with opening and closing store procedures.
Monitor fitting rooms and maintain organization.
Inventory Management
Receive, unpack, tag, and arrange incoming merchandise.
Conduct regular stock replenishment and stock counts.
Report damaged, defective, or missing inventory.
Support periodic inventory audits and stock verification.
Billing & POS
Operate the billing/POS system accurately.
Process cash, card, UPI, and other payment methods.
Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policy.
Maintain accurate billing records.
Team Support
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
Assist in store events, promotional activities, and product launches.
Support other operational tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
Be willing to contribute to all aspects of store operations as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (graduate preferred).
1–2 years of retail experience preferred; freshers with excellent communication skills may also apply.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-oriented with a positive attitude.
Basic computer and POS knowledge.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotational shifts.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling merchandise.
