Job Title:
Handicrafts & Textile Showroom Salesman
Job Summary:
A Sales Executive in a handicrafts and textile showroom is responsible for assisting customers, promoting traditional and modern products (such as fabrics, garments, home décor, and handmade items), and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience that leads to sales and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service
· Greet customers warmly and understand their needs
· Explain product details such as fabric type, craftsmanship, origin, and care instructions
· Suggest suitable products based on customer preferences and budget
2. Sales & Promotion
· Actively promote handicrafts, textiles, and related items
· Achieve daily/weekly/monthly sales targets
· Upsell and cross-sell products
3. Product Knowledge
· Maintain strong knowledge of:
· Different fabrics (cotton, silk, wool, etc.)
· Handicraft techniques (embroidery, weaving styles, regional specialties)
· Stay updated on new arrivals and trends
4. Showroom Maintenance
· Ensure products are neatly displayed and organized
· Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of the showroom
· Assist in visual merchandising and window displays
5. Billing & Inventory Support
· Support in billing, invoicing, and payments (cash/card/UPI)
· Assist in stock checking and inventory management
· Report low stock or damaged items
6. Customer Relationship Management
· Build long-term relationships with customers
· Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns politely
· Maintain customer records if required
Required Skills:
· Good communication (spoken English) and interpersonal skills
· Basic knowledge of textiles and handicrafts (preferred)
· Sales and negotiation skills
· Customer-focused attitude
Qualifications:
· Minimum: 10th/12th pass (higher preferred)
· Experience in retail/showroom sales is an advantage
